Gabriella Crespi (1922-2017) was one of the foremost Italian furniture designers of the twentieth century. Born near Florence, Crespi studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. In the 1950s, she issued her first line of furniture, the “Small Lune” collection. She worked as a designer throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, retiring in 1985.
Over the course of her lengthy career, Crespi attracted a cult following due to her penchant for creating geometric, sculptural furnishings imbued with an aura of glamour.
