Carved and Silvered Gargoyle Bench, France, c. 1920’s

Carved and Silvered Gargoyle Bench France Circa 1920s – Todd Merrill

A magnificently carved pair of silvered gargoyles each with unique faces and details. They are mythic “dogs” with wings, lion-clawed feet, and breasts and amazingly life-like grimaced faces. Each is carved in 3-D on all three sides. They hold a beautifully proportioned seat silvered to match upholstered in tufted Rose Cummings “black-pearl” silk-satin. The perfect guardians for the base of your king-sized bed or in your entry hall.
