George Nakashima, Minguren II Low Table, USA, 1975
A wonderful example of Nakashima’s craftsmanship and deference to form. This outstanding Black Walnut slab low table features a beautifully figured top with the wood’s natural inclusions. Typical of Nakashima, the form of the bench carefully parallels the grain patterning giving way to a large oval shaped knot at the wider end. This base was named after the group in Japan who produced his shows there.
The table is accompanied by the original receipt from the client from George Nakashima’s New Hope, Pennsylvania Studio and a letter of authenticity from the Nakashima Studio.
