Jack Rogers Hopkins Custom Lounge Chair and Ottoman – Todd Merrill
Exceptional, unique lounge chair and ottoman is a fantastic example of Hopkins’ unrestrained artistic expression. Laminated construction allowed Hopkins to create elegant large scale pieces. Known for combining the utility of several items into one functional form – Hopkins created this sculptural chair by incorporating a reading lamp and a book shelf. Variations are documented in California Design Eight, and California Design Eleven by The Pasadena Art Museum.
The chair is featured in “Modern Americana: Studio Furniture from High Craft to High Glam”, Todd Merrill and Julie V. Iovine, Rizzoli, p.88-89
