Phillip Lloyd Powell Pair of Silvered-Walnut Mirrored Screens New Hope  – Todd Merrill

This beautiful pair of panels were hand-carved by Powell from American black walnut. The “silver”, made of aluminum leaf, sits over a red ground, lending a bright “pop” effect to mirror the epoch that served as Powell’s creative heyday.  Powell adapted this design motif to various iconic pieces that exist in his repertoire, including doors, cabinets, dressers, and headboards. The panels are piano-hinged with polished steel with black felt backs. An estimated 20 pairs of screens are known to have been made. Excellent original condition.

 Each: 86.75″H  x 17″ W x 1.25″ D
