Raymond Barger, Bronze Fountain Sculpture, USA, 1967
Raymond Granville Barger was a mid-century sculptor in Bucks County, PA, who worked with various materials including metal, plastelina, and bronze. His sculptures are works of art that dynamically enhance the architecture and landscape which surround them.
This exquisite piece, made of strips of bronze that are now patinated, is a sculpture with the potential to be a functioning fountain as well.
Barger was educated at Carnegie Institute of Technology and Yale University School of Fine Art, where he received a Winchester Fellowship. He also was the recipient of a special fellowship from the American Academy in Rome.
