Epitomizing Ron Seff’s distinctive use of metals with exotic materials, this elegant small dresser features a black pen shell tile inlay with stainless steel reveals and base. The cabinet features three hidden drawers slide open at the center. Inspired by great 20th century Arts Décoratifs masters, Seff’s work also typifies the glamorous era in which it was made– in a similar vein as the works made by Karl Springer, with whom he worked closely.
Each piece is crafted with uncompromising attention to detail, marked by masterful execution and classic elegance. The dresser is in excellent original condition.
Todd Merrill Studio has been chosen as the exclusive representative for the vintage collection of works by Ron Seff. After 36 years of business, Ron Seff has formally closed its doors at their final showrooms in New York and Miami. The present selection comprises the artist’s original showroom models and prototypes, mostly dating to the early 1980s, which have been meticulously stored cared for since the artist’s death in the late 1980s. None of these designs will be produced again, and most of the remaining works are the last of their original production.
Today, integrating materials such as as shagreen, bone, lacquered leathers, and shell to furniture pieces is becoming a lost art. These works offer clients a unique opportunity to acquire vintage pieces that are in excellent condition and made with the level of artistry no longer found anywhere in the world.
