Tommi Parzinger, Tall Bar Cabinet, USA, c. 1950

An entirely original cabinet or bar designed and produced by Tommi Parzinger in the early 1950’s, this beautiful piece comes from his second show room that was located at 32 East 57th Street in Manhattan.

The tall cabinet, made with clean, modern lines also gives a nod to tribal influences, such as the  hand-carved dark wood  “Moorish” or “African”  inspired “antique”  lattice that covers the  single door. The exotic front is inset with a small mirrored window of “antiqued” silvered glass.
While none of these components are actually antique, they have been convincingly created to appear as such,  pointing to  Parzinger’s superb cabinet making skills.
The satin  lacquered cabinet has its original greige finish with a Parzinger-red interior. The interior features a serving shelf with drawer and four shelves for ample storage for objects or bar-ware.
All brass hardware is original.  The interior drawer is stamped with a burned mark Parzinger Originals.
