Yard Sale Project, Over Easy II Low Table, UK, 2013
The “Over Easy II” low-table was inspired by timeworn stones found on the beach or an over easy egg. The table is made with a streak of dark woods through its middle, fading to white woods at the edges. The process by which the woods are combined has been uniquely developed and applied on a large scale by Yard Sale Project in the Corsican series.
Ian Spencer and industrial designer Cairn Young together form the Yard Sale Project, through which they produce one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture that combine the highly accomplished technical design of Young with the master craftsmanship of Spencer.
Yard Sale Project’s “Roccapina V” Chair is exhibited in “Against the Grain: Wood in Contemporary Art, Craft, and Design” at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, NY (March 19, 2013- September 15, 2013), Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale. Florida (October 12, 2013 – January 20, 2014), and the Bellevue Arts Museum, Washington (March 7, 2014 – June 30, 2014).
