David Yepez’s work explores the contemporary shift toward futurism while maintaining the aesthetics of traditional craftsmanship and design. He focuses on seamlessly merging physical and digital worlds through experimentation with both materials and fabrication methods, often integrating technology in surprisingly subtle ways. Incorporating innovative modern techniques during the design process, such as 3D printing as a starting point for cast bronze, his work bridges the aspirations of technology with time-honored shapes and forms.
Yepez received a BFA from SVA in New York and is an instructor demonstrating traditional craftsmanship with Lie Neilson Toolworks. He also is a board member of the Creative Tech Innovation Council in New York.
