This beautiful and uniquely composed walnut bed features an asymmetrical free form slab headboard measuring 96 inches in length. Extending from the headboard on one side is a hanging free form edge shelf with a small drawer beneath it for storage.The cantilevered headboard, balanced between the platform bed one on side and the shelf/drawer on the other, renders the piece at ideal aesthetic equilibrium– a perfect example of George Nakashima’s mastery with wood.  Excellent original condition. The bed is accompanied by the original client’s 1957 receipt and a letter of authenticity, both from the Nakashima Studio.
