A fantastic brass-plated steel undulating console designed by Paul Evans in the 1980s, this is one of the rare cylindrical examples from that era and is a final visual iteration of the artist’s repertoire.
The console was one of the floor model prototypes for Evans’ last design and studio business in his post-Pennsylvania days, based in New York City
Made with plexiglas, enameled wood, and laminated interiors, the cylindrical console is aesthetically and practically innovative; each of the three sections opens to reveal three tiers of shelving in the console’s interior as well as three shelves on each door. Evocative of the era in which it was made, the shimmering piece meets voluminous proportions and a reflective surface. Excellent condition.
