Paul Evans, Wall-mounted Sculpted Bronze Disc Bar Signed and Dated by Paul Evans, c.1971
72″ Wall-mounted Sculpted Bronze Disc Bar Signed and Dated by Paul Evans, c.1971
The Sculpted Bronze or “Sculptural Metal” Collection was introduced officially by Directional in a 1969 catalogue that featured a wall-mounted disc bar on its cover. This was a seminal piece for Evans as it became an overnight sensation. The Disc Bar was created to showcase Evan’s Disc Sculpture but opened with two doors to reveal a functional bar. The doors were often ordered as wall-mounted art. This model was ordered in two parts. The client first ordered the doors in 1971 for their living room wall and in 1973 ordered the case to re-mount in their dining room to be used as a server or bar. From the original owner.
The base is signed PE 73 and the doors are signed PE 71.
Base Cabinet: 48” H x 48” W x 16” D
