Ron Ferri, Illuminated Plexiglass and Mirror Low Table, USA, 1970s
There are few designers who captured the essence of the Studio 54 era as well as Ron Ferri did. The emerald green Plexiglas base of Ferri’s table is illuminated from within and supports a sleek mirrored glass top. Scott Bromley, the architect for Studio 54, worked with designers to select furniture that would compliment his design but would also suit the spareness required for discoteque, with flat surfaces that could accommodate various “refreshments.”
From the original Jay Spectre-designed interior of R. Roberts’ home. Documented on page 46 of Jay Spectre and G. Bradfield’s book, Point of View: Design by Jay Spectre.
