A smoke mirrored, crystal beaded and bronze doré chandelier designed by Maison Bagues for Elsa Schiaparelli’s Grafton Street atelier in London in the 1930s.  This chandelier came from the Schiaparelli showroom with a collection of original lighting. It features a crystal beaded center rod surrounded by crystal beaded flowers and naturalistic bronze doré vines – all aglow from lights hidden in the octagon smoke-mirrored bowl from which this garden grows. The whole is surrounded by six bronze doré tasseled torchère beaded candles. Fantastically fantasy and chic from one of the best fashion ateliers in history. A rare and beautiful piece of lighting. Elsa Schiaparelli was known as the great rival of Coco Channel and was influenced by her Surrealist friends including collaborators Salvador Dali and Alberto Giacometti — it is no wonder this light is so special.
