Set of Eight Signed Iridescent Ceramic Goblets by Beatrice Wood, USA, circa 1950’s. Set of eight goblets in three sizes: 1 large, 4 medium and 3 small. Each piece is hand-glazed in brilliant, iridescent blues, greens, pinks and yellows. Each signed “Beato” on underside.
Wood’s contemporaries included Marcel Duchamp, Henri-Pierre Roche and others associated with the Dada movement of the early 20th century, earning her the nickname “Mama of Dada”. Wood’s ceramics are displayed in the permanent collections of 15 major U.S. museums, including the Smithsonian and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
