Long Sideboard by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, USA c. 1950

Incredible console by Edward Wormley for Dunbar, model 5464, c.1950. Solid ebonized mahogany case with tawi wood door fronts and marble top. Design inspired by classic campaign chest, mahogany case on a mahogany stand with brass handles. Fantastic amounts of storage make this impressive console as practical as it is attractive. Has large, divided felt lined drawer and large drawer with a removable mahogany linen tray. Tambour door covers an ample storage compartment, and a locking door with key secures another. Solid brass pulls and hardware, console rests on mahogany base. Offered with multiple options, each sideboard was custom made to order. Marked with green Dunbar tag. Newly restored with a beautiful hand rubbed French polish finish.
