Currently working from her studio in Gunnison, Colorado, Stewart’s sculptures range from abstract figural forms and portals to ceramic murals and totemic works. Her signature style—refined, tactile, and elemental—is shaped by years of immersive studio practice and mentorship under renowned ceramic artist Eric Roinestad. Her forms are often born from the wheel and transformed through a process of reshaping and layering, embodying themes of emergence, transformation, and embodiment.

A central body of work, the LEGACY series, reflects Stewart’s ongoing investigation into what we inherit and what we leave behind. Composed of stacked segments, each totem becomes a visual metaphor for the layered nature of identity—familial, spiritual, and cultural. These vertical forms pose the question: What legacy are we leaving for those to come? Whether made as stand-alone works or commissioned in collaboration with collectors, each LEGACY totem becomes an artifact of personal truth and collective memory.

Stewart’s work is deeply informed by her studies in spiritual psychology, as well as early influences like Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, and Andy Goldsworthy. Additional inspiration stems from the biomorphic abstraction of Jean Arp and Brancusi, the sacred geometry of Hilma af Klint, and the immersive scale of artists like Tara Donovan and Numen/For Use.

Beyond the studio, Stewart has created a space for healing and creative community: The Calm & The Current, her gallery and gathering space in Gunnison. Hosting workshops, exhibitions, and wellness events, it serves as an extension of her belief that art can be a vehicle for personal and collective transformation.

With each new series, Stewart continues to refine a visual language rooted in softness, strength, and spiritual inquiry—crafting not just objects, but portals for introspection and connection.
