In the mid-’60s Neal Small came on the new York furniture scene as a young designer with a transformational idea for furnitureโacrylic plastic. Better known as Plexiglas, Lucite and Acrylite, Small turned out innovative furniture, lighting and sculpture in a largely unexplored industrial material that was at the time mainly used for displays. Neal Small’s work can be found in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
Neal Small is also famous for his multi-dimensional mirrored wall sculptures.
