George Nakashima, Pair of Custom-made Maple Free-Edge Double Chest of Drawers, USA 1970
Commissioned directly from the artist this excellent pair of eight-drawer dressers was custom-made by George Nakashima in his New Hope Studio c.1970.
Both chests, crafted in maple, feature six wide drawers and two smaller jewelry drawers. The top features a heavily knotted live edge piece of maple that extends beyond the case. The top is fitted with exposed dovetails and pegs. The case rests upon a sap block base.
