A silver leaf surround sofa by James Mont, c. 1950. A brown, silk velvet sofa surrounded by a silver leaf frame with five urn-shaped balustrades. The upholstered sofa is rectilinear with straight arms; the balustrades are turned and support an upper shelf and a lower plinth that wraps around the newly upholstered sofa, which is 100% silk velvet in mink.
