This quietly opulent pair of chests by American architect and designer Samuel Marx features four deep drawers with their original griege lacquer and silver gilding finishes. The case and drawer fronts are made of mahogany and the drawer interiors are made of white oak. Manufactured by William J. Quigley, Inc, the chests were originally designed for Marx’s own home and then subsequently sold to a neighbor in his Chicago apartment building.
