Molly Hatch, Aspire: After Meissen, USA, 2015
Aspireย uses motifs from the iconic Meissen Porcelain Manufacturerโs Purple Indian tableware pattern.ย Aspireย is the second in an ongoing series of works that explores the relationship between the historic and the contemporary through the deconstruction of traditional tableware patterns. In the past decade, the name Molly Hatch has become synonymous with contemporary ceramics.ย Hatchโs ceramic installations, inspired by historical decoration, have been exhibited and collected all over the world and garnered her a loyal and fervent following.
