Molly Hatch, Truth, Beauty, Power, USA, 2025
Truth, Beauty, and Power, an extraordinary 20-foot-wide ceramic plate installation by American artist Molly Hatch. At 10 feet in height, the work transforms historical ornament into a contemporary feminist retelling.
Inspired by a Christopher Dresser vessel, also referenced in Hatch’s earlier pieces Power and Ducere, (her monumental installation at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts,) the installation examines gold leaf, decorative language, and scale as symbols of authority and cultural inheritance. By reinterpreting these symbols through her own hand, Hatch positions herself within a lineage from which women were historically excluded, reclaiming a place of authorship and power in the visual narrative. This museum-level work offers collectors the rare opportunity to acquire a Hatch installation of this magnitude without commission. Hatch’s work resides in major institutions including the High Museum of Art (Atlanta), the Newark Museum of Art, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and six Tiffany & Co. Blue Box Café locations worldwide.
