We are pleased to unveil a striking new evolution in Djivan Schapiraโ€™s Orbital Table series: a matte finish that subtly redefines the artistโ€™s bold, futuristic vision. Known for his radiant resin surfaces and kinetic color palettes, Schapira now introduces a softer, more grounded aestheticโ€”one that lends his signature tables an unexpected elegance and intimacy.

Available in small side, low, and center table formats, these latest Orbital Tables retain the interstellar ambition that has become synonymous with Schapiraโ€™s work, while ushering in a refined sensibility through the matte surface treatment. This finish diffuses light rather than reflecting it, giving the forms a sculptural presence that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Each version is individually distinguished not only by Schapiraโ€™s complex resin compositions but also by subtle material accents. The white table is fitted with hand-wrapped bronze wire legs, a warm counterbalance to its crisp surface. In contrast, the darker variation features cool silver wire detailing, accentuating its galactic depth. These tactile choices speak to Schapiraโ€™s long-standing dialogue with the traditions of fine decorative artsโ€”filtered through a distinctly futuristic lens.

This matte finish marks an exciting new direction for the studio, one that will likely appear across select upcoming works. As always, each piece is one-of-a-kindโ€”an alchemical fusion of craft, concept, and cultural reference points ranging from the Bauhaus revival and mid-century sci-fi to French marquetry and digital-age iconography.

Crafted in his New Jersey atelier, with sweeping views of the Hudson and the New York skyline, Schapiraโ€™s tables are the result of over a decade of rigorous material exploration, and a lifetime steeped in craftsmanship. With this new chapter, he continues to expand the boundaries of collectible designโ€”offering objects that are as richly considered as they are visually arresting.
