Amir Habibabadi, Soho Wall Mounted Cabinet, USA, 2026
Marking Amir Habibabadi’s first work presented by the gallery, this monumental wall-mounted cabinet embodies the sculptural language that defines his practice. Spanning nearly eight feet in width, the hand-carved ash wood form appears to hover effortlessly against the wall, its floating presence lends the piece an unexpected lightness despite its commanding scale. Capped with a sleek travertine surface, the cabinet achieves a striking equilibrium between warmth and permanence, movement and stillness.
Habibabadi approaches furniture as an extension of architecture and sculpture, dissolving the boundaries between a functional object and expressive form. Here, the cabinet unfolds as a continuous organic gesture, its carved surfaces flow with a rhythm that feels both intuitive and meticulously resolved. Ethereal in its undulating contours yet firmly grounded through materiality and proportion, the work possesses a quiet authority that anchors the space while remaining visually weightless.
As Amir Habibabadi works on a commission basis, materials and scale are customizable.
