Djivan Schapira, Seasons in Sequence Cabinet, USA, 2026

Handcrafted from resin, white oak, fruitwood endgrain, suede, silver wire, and a textured mineral finish, Seasons in Sequence Cabinet continues Djivan Schapira’s exploration of material transformation and the passage of time. Drawing from nature’s cyclical rhythms, the cabinet captures organic elements within a meticulously composed architectural framework, balancing precision craftsmanship with a sense of movement and wonder.

The cabinet’s surface is animated by fruitwood endgrain suspended within luminous resin, creating a visual landscape that evokes growth rings, seasonal change, and the accumulation of time. Fine silver wire details trace subtle pathways throughout the composition, while textured mineral finishes introduce a tactile counterpoint to the resin’s depth and clarity. Suede-lined drawers and carefully crafted white oak construction further enrich the piece with warmth and refinement.

In Seasons in Sequence Cabinet, Schapira transforms natural materials into a poetic record of time made visible. The arrangement of fruitwood endgrain appears to drift and settle within the resin, preserving fleeting moments of nature in a permanent state. Simultaneously sculptural and functional, the work reflects Schapira’s ongoing fascination with the intersection of organic processes, contemporary craftsmanship, and retro-futurist design.

Formally trained at Parsons School of Design, Schapira has developed a singular design language that merges architectural rigor with imaginative material experimentation. His work has been featured in Louis Vuitton flagship boutiques, the Waldorf Astoria, the Venetian Resort Hotel, and private collections worldwide. Schapira has received numerous international honors, including NYC×DESIGN’s Emerging Product Designer of the Year Award and recognition for excellence in furniture design.

Seasons in Sequence Cabinet exemplifies Schapira’s ability to transform familiar materials into functional sculpture—an object that preserves nature’s rhythm while inviting continual discovery.
