Todd Merrill Studio is pleased to present the Heritage Collection consoles by Draga & Aurel, a celebrated design duo whose multidisciplinary practice bridges furniture, textile, and interior design. Founded in 2007 in Como, Italy, the studio transforms vintage furniture into visionary contemporary works—each piece meticulously deconstructed, rebuilt, and completely reimagined through the duo’s signature resin techniques.

Draga Obradovic, who began her career in London and Milan as a textile designer, brings a refined sensitivity to color, surface, and materiality. Her partner, Aurel K. Basedow, trained as both a carpenter and a classically educated artist, contributes a deep understanding of structure, form, and craftsmanship. Together, they merge their distinct talents to produce furniture that blurs the boundaries between art, design, and sculpture.

The Heritage Collection consoles embody Draga & Aurel’s most recent exploration of transparency—both as a material and as a conceptual lens. Vintage forms are encased in richly pigmented, hand-poured resin, creating luminous volumes that reveal and obscure their underlying structures. The results are objects suspended between past and future: part restoration, part reinvention.

Drawing inspiration from the reduced geometries of Minimalism, the retro-futuristic boldness of Space Age design, and the optical dynamism of Op Art, Draga & Aurel synthesize these references into wholly original works produced entirely by hand in their Como atelier. Their practice spans seating, tables, consoles, and lighting, crafted in resin, bronze, and brass, with select designs suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
